Starting To Get Excited
I know that the owner of this site, Mark, still has a nice surprise to come for the next season of our Dream Theater blog, but that’s not the only thing that gets me excited.
The end of June is coming closer and that means that the pre-season is about to start!
Once we’ll have reached mid next week, we’ll finally be able to focus on our Red Devils again! Last weeks have been really hard and hardest of all was not to focus on all the rest… the Henry saga, the City soap and both Chelsea’s and Liverpool’s inability to significantly improve their squad. I’m sure it would have been a blast, but we’ll have time enough over the next 11 months to do so. ;-)
In 4 weeks we are on our Asia Tour, in 6 weeks it’s time for the Charity Shield.
I hope some when in between those two events we can announce the news for this site. And I hope next season will bring us among the most read and important English football blogs. I surely hope to bring my views on our magnificent team and it’s foreseeable awesome new season! And of course I hope you’ll enjoy those views too.
I have been thinking a little about what we could do for this blog to make Season 2007-2008 a success and that’s where I need your help! Tell us in the comments what you’d love to see on Manchester United Blog over the next months and we’ll look to implement it. Those are my thoughts so far:
– Player interviews would be awesome, but the guys most of time are very busy and not that easily to approach for interviews. Still, I will try. Every help here is of course appreciated.
– A Manchester United wiki, starting with player pages. With time and your help, we could easily build the most extensive online ManUtd. encyclopedia.
– Guest bloggers : been to a ManU event or play in a youth league? Has your ManU fan club organized a cool event? If you want to write an entry about, leave a comment (make sure to include a valid email so we can get back to you).
– Regular polls.
– A ManUtd. photo gallery. Seen one of our stars and snapped a quick shot, been to a game and taken pics. We could share them in a gallery.
I can think of many more things, but now it’s up to you guys. Let us know, so we can prepare the next term and make this site rock!
One more thing: I’ll be at Old Trafford next week watching paint dry for a cricket Twenty/20 game. Leave a comment if you’re going to be there!
Ronaldo Doesnt Miss a Beat, Helps Reds Advance
Cristiano Ronaldo was upbeat with their victory over Middlesbrough despite lingering controversies on their win. The Reds win came from the penalty kick awarded to Ronaldo after being tripped by Middlesbroughs Jonathan Wingate. The call was controversial in a sense that Middlesbrough believed that not much contact merited the penalty kick which evidently decided the marginal point of the match at the FA Cup semi-finals.
Despite the protests, it was pretty clear that contact was the reason for Ronaldos trip. Ronaldo took the protest personally, stressing that every time he is involved in controversial calls, it is because of political issues concerning his tenure at United.
Nevertheless, it is the team that has benefited from Ronaldos efforts and they are upbeat in their next match against Wattford. Admitting that the game will surely be one hell of a match, at the rate Ronaldo is going, United may find itself playing at Wembley next.
