The last week has been rather quiet, but not less eventfull than the weeks before. On Wednesday 2 ManU selections has friendly run-outs against Dunfermline FC and Glentoran, in Scotland. Both games were easily won, all while both SAF and Cristiano stayed at home.
On Friday Tevez’s move FINALLY got FINALIZED and the Argentinian is expected to make his debut next Sunday in the Manchester derby, against Sven’s new squad.
Gaby still is part of our squad, but Rafa thinks he can soon come to a deal, all while SAF said that there is definitely a role and game time for Heinze at ManU.
But all in all, everything this week was focused on the Premier League start of the Season, against Reading tomorrow.
Earlier in the week the squad numbers, and our full squad so far, were announced and our squad IS IMPRESSIVE!
Goal: Edwin Van der Sar (1) – Ben Foster (12) – Tomasz Kuszczak (29)
Defense: Gary Neville (2) – Nemanja Vidic (15) – Rio Ferdinand (5) – Patrice Evra (3) – Gabriel Heinze (14) – Gerard Pique (19) – John O’Shea (22) – Mikael Silvestre (27) – Wes Brown (6) – Jonny Evans (23) – Danny Simpson (25) – Phil Bardsley (26) – Kieran Lee (35) – David Gray (36)
Midfield: Ryan Giggs (11) – Park Ji-Sung (13) – Michael Carrick (16) – Paul Scholes (18) – Owen Hargreaves (4) – Luis Nani (17) – Cristiano Ronaldo (7) – Anderson (8) – Darren Fletcher (24) – Darron Gibson (28) – Lee Martin (30) – Chris Eagles (33)Michael Barnes (42)
Attack: Wayne Rooney (10) – Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (20) – Carlos Tevez (32) – Louis Saha (9) – Fraizer Campbell (39)
SAF’s biggest problem this season obviously will be the wide and large squad and the huge number of internationals. Our attack might only be 4 members strong, but we certainly have the most offensive midfield on the whole planet to boost the numbers of goals this season. For the game against Reading, SAF may feel blessed that some reputable ManU players aren’t ready, fit enough yet to be featured already and this will certainly ease the selection problems for Fergie. I predict a classic line-up for tomorrow, with only Neville and Paul Scholes missing from last year’s tested and proven lineup. I expect Nani to debut from the first minute at OT, to be eventually replaced by Scholes later in the game. Although I’ld love to see get Tevez a place on the bench and eventually get 2-3 minutes at the end of the game to taste OT, I don’t see this happen yet.
Lineup VDS, Brown, Rio, Vidic, Evra, Hargreaves, Carrick, Nani, Giggs, Rooney, Ronaldo.
Subs: Kuszczak, O’Shea, Fletcher, Scholes, Anderson.
Prediction: 3-0 (and I placed a sweet bet at 7/1 on this result).
